Does Shakeology Really Work?
You’ve probably heard all the hype surrounding Shakeology. I had heard nothing but it’s great things about Shakeology before I decided to try it. Admittedly I was skeptical. I mean it’s just a shake right? Wrong? Read my Shakeology review and decide for yourself.

Not another Shakeology review? Well yes of course. I just wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t give you my honesty opinion of Shakeology. I’m sure you’ve heard about Shakeology and have questions and concerns about whether it is right for you.
Why Was I Skeptical About Trying Shakeology?
I had two main objectives to purchasing Shakeology. First being the cost. If you are wondering just why Shakeology carries such a hefty price tag I can tell you in a word. It’s the ingredients. It’s all natural and sourced from over 70 nutrient dense ingredients from all over the world. It’s got your daily doses of proteins, vitamins and minerals. It also includes anitoxidants, fiber, probiotics and a whole host of other nutritious ingredients. Honestly I was more than a bit intrigued by the health benefits of Shakeology.
It’s funny how we never think twice about overspending on indulgences that won’t benefit us in a positive way. If you think you can’t afford Shakeology review this comparison chart. While you may not have a coffee every day or a burger surely there is something you know you can improve on. Think about what that could be and then decide what is really important you. As a low carber I was pretty concerned about the 17 carbs in Shakeology. At that point in time I was only allowed 25 carbs. After reading over the ingredients I realized taking Shakeology would simply be like replacing some of my veggies for the day. Which is where most of my carbs come from.
The carbs in Shakeology are not the starchy carbs that come from pastas or potatoes. But carbs that come from healthful vegetables. There are also 6 grams of fiber which brings the carb count down to 11.
What did I Think About The Shakes?
The very first time I had the shake I mixed it with almond milk. This is what was recommended to me by coach. To keep carb count low I mixed equal parts water and almond milk. Not my thing. The shake had an odd taste.
I decided to try making my Shakeology, chocolate of course, with coffee. I refrigerate until cold. The coffee just makes it taste much more chocolatey. It’s especially delicious with flavored (not sweetened) coffees. My favorite, Khalua.
Next I ditched the almond milk and opted for heavy cream. I’m a low carber, I can do that. Oh man this is just magical. I freeze it until it’s the consistency of a Frosty and it’s amazing. I highly suggest experimenting with Shakeology recipes. Try different shakes or even food recipes.
One last thing I’ll say about the shakes is that I thought they were super filling. Overly filling for me in fact. I had to cut down on the amount of liquid I used and sometimes split it into two snacks.
Does Shakeology Really Work?
One of my main objectives during my weight loss journey is achieving a certain number on the scale. Before I started taking Shakeology I was having a difficult time breaking a certain barrier. I can’t recall what weight I was at when I started Shakeology but sure enough after the first week the numbers started to move again.
I use Shakeology as a meal replacement and occasionally as a snack. Yes for me it did help me get the numbers moving downward on the scale again.
Prior to ordering Shakeology I was having protein bars daily. I was pretty well addicted to them. I hated that I had to have them every day but really I just couldn’t stop eating them. It’s artificial sugar that does that.
Sometimes I have control over artificial sweeteners and sometimes it just spirals out of control. I wasn’t convinced the protein bars were the healthiest thing for me but I just needed something sweet to satisfy cravings. Shakeology was an excellent replacement because it satisfied my sweet tooth but doesn’t bring out the craving for sweets often caused by artificial sweeteners.
I keep really odd hours and I am not a morning person. It takes me a good while to become alert in the mornings. With Shakeology I noticed I wasn’t as sluggish in the mornings and became alert a bit quicker. I didn’t feel zoom, zoom, zoom as if I had taken something. Just more alert.
Shakeology review wrap up what I really like about Shakeology is that it makes me feel like I am doing something healthy for my body. Especially having replaced protein with Shakeology.
Shakeology will help fuel your body and help you on your health and fitness journey. Is it a magic shake or cure all? No but a lot goes into Shakeology to make sure it is one of the healthiest things you can put into your body.
