Before we start, it is important to note that there are several NordicTrack treadmill models. However, the folding procedure for nearly all NordicTrack treadmill is the same. There are also several ways of disassembling a NordicTrack treadmill. Below I am going to give you the simplest method that will only take you a few minutes to complete.

Step One: Disconnect the Power Source

The first important thing that you need to do is unplug the machine from the power source. This process is important because it helps to protect you from possible electrocution. Removing the machine from the plug will also help you to remove and fold all critical parts safely without damaging them.

Step Two: Detach the Console

Once you have disconnected this workout machine from the power source, the next step is removing the console wire. This two piece wire is located on the back, near the handrail. Find this important wire then gently pull it apart to disconnect it.

Step Three: Locate and Disconnect the Grounding Wire

The grounding wire is a very thin wire that extends from a hole in the middle of the console on the backside. Find this wire and disconnect it from the treadmill.

Step Four: Detach Console Clamps

Once you have disconnected all wires that power the treadmill, you can now start to fold the treadmill. Start by removing the console clamps at the top of the unit. The only way to detach the clamps safely is by using a 9-inch rod. Ensure that you remove all the four screws that hold the clamp in place.

Step Five: Detach the Console from the Treadmill

This is a very simple step. All that you need to do is remove the six crews that hold the console and treadmill. This machine has two screws on the right, two on the left and two screws in the middle. Ensure that you remove all the six screws using a Philips head screwdriver. Once you are done, gently lift the console off the frame and store it in a safe place.

Step Six: Fold the Treadmill

Once you have successfully detached the console from the treadmill and stored it in a safe place, then you are almost 70% done. The next process now is disassembling the machine for easy moving or transportation. Start the process by first removing the two wires that you disconnected from the console. Once you are done, remove the bolts that hold, the machine upright. This machine has around eight bolts. Use your Philips head screwdriver to remove all the eight bolts. Upon completion, you will only remain with the base, which cannot be disassembled. Fold all the loosened parts gently, preferably with a blanket to protect the treadmill from damage.

Moving the Treadmill

Once you have dissembled your treadmill, the next critical step is transporting it safely to your desired location. Ensure that all parts stored securely to protect them against damage when they are being transported.

Hold the handrail with your hands then slowly pull the treadmill. All NordicTrack treadmills have wheels so moving it shouldn’t be a problem. If you are moving the treadmill from one room of the house to another, drag it slowly until you reach your destination. On the other hand, if you are transporting it to another location via track, then ensure that the track is big enough to accommodate all parts that you have dissembled.
